Australia might have 22°C temperatures and shrimps on the barbie, but the west of Ireland has wind. Lots and lots of wind.
We spent Christmas travelling back and forth to the beautiful Silver Strand outside of Galway. For the twins, there was nothing melancholy about this seaside in winter. They loved running around in the wind, watching the intrepid windsurfers and screaming their little lungs out at passing cows.
Best of all, on Christmas morning Cillian dived head first into a toy doll’s crib in an attempt to impersonate Houdini.
